PRIVACY POLICY
Last Updated: April 2026
Global Insider Experience ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through this Privacy Policy. This Policy describes the types of information we collect from you, how we use it, how we protect it, and your rights regarding your personal data.
This Privacy Policy applies to all information collected:
-
On the Global Insider Experience website (the "Website")
-
Through our mobile or desktop applications (the "App")
-
Through email, text, and other electronic communications
-
When you interact with our content or ads on third-party platforms that link to this Policy
Collectively, we refer to the Website and App as the "Platform."
This Policy does not apply to:
-
Offline data collection
-
Any other websites we operate without referencing this Policy
-
Any third-party websites or applications not operated by us
Please review this Policy carefully. By using the Platform, you consent to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.
We may update this Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes means you accept the updated terms.
Children Under the Age of 18
The Platform is not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe we have information on someone under 18, contact us at world_traveler_@outlook.com and we will delete such information promptly.
Information We Collect
We collect four types of data:
1. Personal Information — information that identifies you, such as:
-
Name
-
Mailing address
-
Email address
-
Phone number
-
Payment information (processed through our third-party payment partner, Wise — see "Payment Information" below)
2. Identity Verification Information — to keep our community safe, hosts (and in some cases travelers) may be asked to provide:
-
A government-issued photo ID (such as a passport, driver's license, or national ID card)
-
A selfie or photo for identity-matching purposes
We use this information solely to confirm you are who you say you are. It is not shared with the other party in a booking — a host never sees a traveler's ID, and a traveler never sees a host's ID. See "How We Store Host & Traveler Verification Data" below for more on how this information is protected.
3. Usage & Device Information — automatically collected as you browse, including:
-
IP address
-
Browser type
-
Device type
-
Location data
-
Pages visited, timing, and features used
4. User Contributions — content you voluntarily post, such as comments, photos, reviews, and profile information. Others may view public content; we cannot guarantee the confidentiality of anything you choose to share publicly.
How We Collect Information
We collect information:
-
Directly from you (submissions, forms, purchases, host applications)
-
Automatically through cookies and tracking technology
-
From third-party partners (for example, our payment processor, Wise, and analytics tools)
Cookies & Tracking Tools
We use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to improve Platform performance, understand user trends, recognize returning visitors, and support host and traveler customization. You may disable cookies in your browser, but some features may not function properly as a result.
How We Use Your Information
We use information to:
-
Provide access to the Platform and its features
-
Verify host and traveler identity
-
Process bookings and payments
-
Communicate updates, confirmations, and notices
-
Enhance user experience and personalization
-
Support customer service and safety measures
-
Investigate and resolve disputes between hosts and travelers
-
Comply with legal obligations
With your consent, we may send marketing updates about Global Insider Experience or trusted partners. You may opt out at any time.
Payment Information
We use Wise, a regulated international payment company, to process host payouts. Wise undergoes its own regulatory approval process to operate as a payment provider, and businesses must be approved by Wise before using their services. We do not store your full banking details on our own servers — payout information is managed directly through your own Wise account. For more on how this works, see our blog post: How Global Insider Pays Our Hosts.
How We Store Host & Traveler Verification Data
We take the storage of identity verification information seriously, and follow practices consistent with industry standards used by platforms like Airbnb and Uber:
-
Encryption: Identity documents and selfies are encrypted both in transit and at rest.
-
Limited access: Only personnel who specifically need access for verification, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal compliance can view this information. It is never shared with the other party in a booking.
-
Minimal retention: We do not store identity documents or selfies longer than necessary to complete verification. Once your identity has been verified, the document image and selfie are deleted from our systems.
-
No public exposure: Verification documents and selfies are never displayed publicly, included in your host or traveler profile, or used for any purpose beyond confirming your identity.
-
Third-party safeguards: If we use a third-party identity verification provider, that provider is contractually required to protect your data under the same standards described in this Policy.
As with any online platform, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we apply industry-standard safeguards to minimize risk.
Disclosure of Your Information
We may share your data only when necessary:
-
With service providers under confidentiality agreements (such as Wise, for payment processing)
-
During a business acquisition, merger, or divestiture
-
To fulfill a booking (for example, enabling travelers and hosts to message each other)
-
To comply with law enforcement or legal requests
-
To prevent fraud or protect Platform security
We do not sell personal information for profit.
International Data Transfers
Because our hosts and travelers are located around the world — including in the European Union — your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required by law, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for these transfers.
Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Account information is generally retained for the duration of your account's existence, plus 90 days after closure, after which it is deleted or anonymized — unless a longer period is required by law (for example, financial or tax recordkeeping). You may request deletion of your data at any time, as described below.
Your Privacy Choices
You may:
-
Disable cookies
-
Opt out of marketing communications
-
Request access to, updates to, or deletion of your data
-
Request we stop sharing data for third-party advertising purposes
Contact privacy support at world_traveler_@outlook.com. Some requests may require identity verification or may limit certain Platform functionality.
Data Security
We use technical and administrative safeguards, including:
-
Encrypted payment processing through Wise, a PCI-compliant provider
-
Secure servers and firewalls
-
Limited internal access to sensitive information, including identity verification documents
-
Ongoing monitoring for unauthorized access
No method of online transmission is completely secure, and we encourage you to use caution when sharing personal information online.
In the Event of a Data Breach
If a data breach occurs that affects your personal information, we will notify affected users as required by applicable law and take appropriate steps to address the breach.
Your Rights (California & Global Compliance)
California residents may request:
-
What personal information was collected
-
How it was used or disclosed
-
Deletion or restriction of personal data
Residents of the European Union and other jurisdictions with similar data protection laws may have additional rights regarding access, correction, deletion, and portability of their data.
Submit a request anytime to world_traveler_@outlook.com.
